Wien Alaska gave Alaskan Airlines a run for its money from Wien's founding in the 30s as a bush operation until the end in 1983. Whereas Alaska concentrated on Seattle, the Panhandle of Alaska, and Anchorage, Wien focused on the harsher northern parts of the state. It flew 737s, 737 Combis, and 727s.
