Western became one of the early operators of the 2nd generation Boeing 737-300 when it was launched in 1985. In the mid-80s, Western revised its paint scheme to an American Airlines-esque aluminum finish. The fleet was a streamlined mix of 737s, 727s, and DC-10s.
