Under Stephen Wolfe, USAir remade its image into a more business like look. It also launched the low-cost unit, Metrojet using Boeing 737-200's. MetroJet was discontinued in 2001. Wolf attempted to merge USAirways with United in the Summer of 2000 which was luckily blocked by the Justice Department. The airline was hit hard by the industry crisis of 2001-2003 and filed for Chapter 11.
