TWA added DC-9s and 727s shoring up its domestic fleet between 1965 and 1967. It became only the 2nd U.S. airline to serve Africa. Asian routes now stretched all the way to Hong Kong. In 2 years, TWA would become an around the world airline. In 3 years, it would be the first airline to fly the 747 within the U.S.
