In the final year before the introduction of the 747 in January 1970 and the recession of 1970-71, Pan Am's 707s spanned the world. Of course, domestic U.S. flights were still 10 years off. Pan Am had extensive flights to obscure destinations in Africa, the Middle East, and South America still operating a schedule more conducive to being a flag carrier than profitability.
