The St. Louis based carrier had firmly entered the 2nd tier class, with routes stretching from New York to Denver and Minneapolis to Dallas. Some of the route assignments were odd such as New York to Champaign/Urbana, Illinois and Denver to Sioux City Iowa in lieu of flights to the St. Louis or Chicago hubs.
