Throughout it's history Delta had an industry-wide reputation for service and safety. 1985 was a year of expansion, but a dreadful year otherwise. Delta suffered a deadly crash at DFW of an L-1011 in heavy weather. On a positive side, Delta added Honolulu to the map with TriStar flights from Atlanta and DFW, as well as Paris.
