Delta operated DC-10s from 1972-75 and 747s from 1970-75 as insurance before the L-1011s came on line in 1972. This timetable has an excellent insert on the 747 in the memorabilia pages. The 747s were operated between LAX, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, and Atlanta on routes not really appropriate to the Jumbo.
