Carnival Cruise Lines bought Bahamas Express in 1988 and the airline's name was changed to Fun Air, but no planes were painted with that name and cruise ship passengers were flown by Majestic Air using Boeing 727-100 aircraft. The Carnival Air Lines bran ding was introduced in 1989 and they began from Miami and Ft Lauderdale the Northeast USA and later to the Carribbean and LA. The home base for Carnival Air Lines was Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. They flew 727-200s, 737-200s, 737-400s, and A300-B4s. In late 1997, Carnival purchased Pan Am II. In February, 1998 the combined airlines declared bankruptcy and ceased flying.
