Qantas, like Pan Am, had a round the world service continuing through New York until the late 1960s. To faciliate such long-haul routes, Qantas operated the famous "V-Jets", slightly shortened long-range Boeing 707s. Actor John Travolta flies and owns one of these original V's himself.
