ANA, formerly known as All Nippon Airways, is one of the top 10 airlines in the world. ANA dominates the Japanese domestic market and in terms of passenger volume is the largest carrier in the country. ANA began its first international services in 1986 to Guam. Since then it has become a major player in the international market with flights to Europe, the rest of Asia, North America, and Australia. ANA, along with JAL, operates the Domestic version of the 747 for high-density flying of over 500 passengers on very short haul flights within Japan. ANA is a member of the Star Alliance.
