Currently Air India operates an all wide-body fleet of Boeing 747-200s, 300s, and 400s as well as numerous Airbus A-310s for regional Indian Subcontinent services. While Indian Airlines focuses on domestic and regional routes, Air India concentrates on long haul international services. The airline introduced a new updated modern livery in 1989 replacing the 1960s era "Flying Palace" image, but an uproar caused the new image to revert back to the "Palace" look.
