In 2005, Aloha abandoned service to some west coast destinations such as Burbank as financial difficulties crept in. Aloha, along with Delta, was the last mainstream airline to operate Boeing 737-200 in full passenger configuration. Alaska operates 737-200 QCs. Owing to difficult financial conditions, the rocketing price of fuel, a slowing economy, and predatory competition with Mesa owned, GO! Aloha sadly shut down in March, 2008 after 60 years of flying.
