Before ceasing operations in early 1984, Air Florida's route map spread up and down the entire eastern seaboard, extensively through Central America and the Caribbean, and Europe. The airline operated as a low cost carrier in the vein of People Express. Overexpansion and the continued sting from the 1982 Washington D.C. crash bought this fast growing carrier to it's knees.
