Convair 880 N815AJ, ship 35, a TWA machine all its life, was spared by the wrecker himself, Mike Potter, who was ironically the youngest TWA 880 captain. It was retired to Mojave in 1973-74 where it has remained ever since. As of April, 2009 it was the last 880 intact at Mojave. The balance of the fleet was scrapped around 2000.
