Braniff shocked the airline industry when Harding Lawrence and Mary Wells introduced the new International image for Braniff. Designer Alexander Girad was commissioned to design the new multi-colored fleet's cabins and exteriors. Pucci designed new flight attendant uniforms which included the somewhat notorious "air strip" in which flight attendants would "strip" layers of their uniforms as the flight progressed. Interestingly, this campaign was litterally rescued from the trash bin when ad execs were desparate for an idea. This standout campaign would undergo two revisions before the collapse of 1982. In 1990-92, the look would be reintroduced for Braniff III before it too collapsed. See, The Braniff Pages for an excellent history of this.
