This ad featured the debut of the first regularly scheduled non-stop transcontinental service. While TWA led with New York IDL-San Francisco, AA inaugurated its transcon service from New York IDL-Los Angeles. The DC-7C was the chosen aircraft, which would be replaced 5 years later by the Boeing 707.
