Aeroflot has become a major operator of Boeing aircraft with 737s, 767s, and 777s in the mix. It is joined by Airbus A-310s and 320s. This was a controversial move on the part of Aeroflot, but to remain competitive in a free-market economy it was forced to move to superior western-built aircraft. Other former Eastern-block national airlines such as LOT and CSA led Aeroflot in this regard.
