United Airlines 777-200

United and American were the only U.S. operators into Heathrow, until the 2008 initiation of Open Skies when they were joined by USAirways, Northwest, Continental, and Delta. United launched commercial 777 service in June 1995 with a flight from Heathrow to Dulles. United operates over 40 of these 777's which not only replaced the DC-10s, but are increasingly replacing the 747-400s as well. This 777 has just arrived at Terminal 3 from Chicago. This example is seen in the 1993 livery which was replaced in 2004. UA dropped non-stop services to New York in 2007.
