ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. is a regional airline based in Houston, Texas, USA. It does a great deal of flying for as Continental Express for Continental Airlines from hubs at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston, Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, New Jersey and Hopkins International Airport, Cleveland, Ohio. In 2005 Continental Airlines decided to reduce ExpressJet's Continental Express flying so like ill-fated Altantic Coast Airlines, the airline elected to start its own branded airline using Bombardier CRJs. ACA's Independence Air failed but Express Jet has a different model of flying underserved routes where there is far less competition and consequently higher fares. It began point-to-point flying in April 2007 under its own name from locations throughout the USA. Ontario, Canada is the center of operations.
