Amsterdam's Schipol, first opening in 1920, was expanded in the late 90s. It retains it's status as Europe's most user friendly gateway. Not only is it KLM's international hub, but low cost carrier EasyJet has invaded as well. I visited in January 2003 and was impressed with it's efficient layout and passenger services. Outside of Germany, it is one of the few European airports competitive with those in Asia. The airport features a small aviation museum and was the headquarters of Fokker.
