On October 17, 2011 China Southern Airlines flew its first commercial flight on the Airbus A380, becoming the seventh airline in the world to put the superjumbo jet into service. The carrier -- the first in China to fly the Airbus A380-- took delivery of the jet after an elaborate delivery ceremony over the weekend. China Southern Airlines's first Airbus A380 flight left from the Beijing Capital International Airport for the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou on Monday morning local time. China Southern Airlines's Airbus A380s have 506 seats (First: 8, Business: 70, Economy: 428).
